The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is a national-level eligibility examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC). The examination is conducted to determine the eligibility of Indian candidates for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor, Assistant Professor & Ph.D. Admission, and Ph.D. Admission Only in Indian universities and colleges. UGC NET is one of India's most prestigious examinations for candidates aspiring to build careers in teaching, research, and higher education. The examination is conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and covers more than 80 subjects, including Commerce, English, Management, Economics, History, Political Science, Computer Science, Education, Hindi, Geography, Sociology, Psychology, Environmental Science, Law, and many others. The examination consists of Paper I, which evaluates teaching and research aptitude, reasoning ability, comprehension, communication, data interpretation, information technology, people & environment, and higher education system, and Paper II, which assesses the candidate's knowledge in the selected subject. Candidates who have completed or are pursuing a Master's Degree from a recognized university are eligible to appear for the UGC NET examination, subject to the latest eligibility criteria prescribed by NTA and UGC.
