About ICAR
The ICAR Entrance Exam, officially known as the ICAR All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA PG), is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The examination is held for admission to Master's (PG) programmes in Agriculture and Allied Sciences offered by ICAR-recognized Agricultural Universities across India. ICAR is India's apex organization for agricultural education, research, and extension under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India. Through the ICAR entrance examination, eligible candidates can secure admission to leading agricultural institutions, including State Agricultural Universities (SAUs), Central Agricultural Universities (CAUs), ICAR Deemed Universities, and Central Universities offering agriculture and allied science courses. The ICAR AIEEA PG examination evaluates candidates in their respective agricultural disciplines through objective-type questions. It is conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and assesses subject knowledge, analytical ability, scientific aptitude, and problem-solving skills. Candidates who qualify for the ICAR entrance examination become eligible for admission to postgraduate programmes in disciplines such as Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Breeding & Genetics, Soil Science, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Engineering, Forestry, Fisheries Science, Veterinary Science, Dairy Technology, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Agricultural Extension, Seed Science, Entomology, Plant Pathology, and several other agriculture-related specializations.
