About FPT

Food Processing Technology is a professional course designed for students who aspire to build a successful career in the food manufacturing, food processing, quality assurance, and food safety industries. The course provides comprehensive knowledge of food preservation, food production, food chemistry, food microbiology, packaging technology, quality control, nutrition, food engineering, and modern food processing techniques. The curriculum combines theoretical concepts with practical laboratory training and industrial exposure, enabling students to understand every stage of food production—from raw material procurement to processing, packaging, storage, distribution, and quality assurance. Students gain hands-on experience in processing cereals, fruits, vegetables, dairy products, meat, seafood, beverages, bakery products, confectionery, ready-to-eat foods, frozen foods, and functional foods. The course also covers food safety regulations, HACCP, FSSAI standards, ISO quality systems, food packaging technology, cold chain management, supply chain management, food product development, sensory evaluation, nutrition, sustainable food processing, waste management, and food entrepreneurship. Through internships, industrial visits, laboratory experiments, and live projects, students develop practical skills required by modern food industries. With the rapid growth of India's food processing sector and increasing demand for packaged, healthy, and value-added food products, Food Processing Technology professionals are in high demand across food manufacturing companies, dairy industries, beverage companies, FMCG organizations, export houses, quality testing laboratories, research institutions, and government agencies. Graduates can also establish their own food processing unit, packaged food brand, bakery, beverage company, or food startup.
