About GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery)
General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is a 3-year diploma program followed by a 6-month mandatory internship. The course is designed to prepare students for careers in nursing, patient care, and midwifery. It provides comprehensive knowledge of medical sciences, nursing practices, community healthcare, maternal and child health, and emergency care. GNM focuses on developing clinical, communication, and caregiving skills through classroom learning, hospital training, and practical experience. Graduates are equipped to work in hospitals, clinics, community health centers, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and public health organizations.
Eligibility Criteria
Must have passed 10+2 with PCB (higher secondary) from a recognized board.
A minimum of 40%–50% aggregate marks is generally required.
Admission may be based on merit or state/university-level entrance examinations.
