About B.Tech in Plastic Engineering

Plastic engineering is a specialised branch of engineering that focuses on the design, manufacturing, processing, testing, recycling, and application of plastic materials and polymer-based products. It combines the principles of polymer science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, and manufacturing technology to develop innovative plastic products used in industries such as automotive, aerospace, healthcare, electronics, packaging, construction, and consumer goods. The four-year B.Tech. in Plastic Engineering programme equips students with knowledge of plastic processing techniques, polymer chemistry, mould design, extrusion, injection moulding, quality control, plastic testing, composite materials, recycling technologies, and sustainable manufacturing. Students gain practical experience through laboratory work, industrial training, internships, and live manufacturing projects. With the increasing demand for lightweight, durable, and sustainable materials, plastic engineers are highly sought after by plastic manufacturing companies, automotive firms, packaging industries, medical device manufacturers, petrochemical companies, and multinational organisations. The programme offers excellent career opportunities, competitive salary packages, and strong prospects for entrepreneurship.
