About B.Tech Biotechnology

B.Tech Biotechnology is a four-year undergraduate engineering program that combines the principles of biology, chemistry, genetics, microbiology, and engineering to develop innovative solutions in healthcare, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, environmental science, and industrial biotechnology. The program equips students with the technical knowledge and practical skills required to design biological processes, develop new medicines, improve crop productivity, and create sustainable technologies. The curriculum follows the AICTE Model Curriculum and blends theoretical learning with laboratory experiments, industrial training, research projects, and internships. Students gain expertise in molecular biology, genetic engineering, biochemistry, microbiology, cell biology, bioinformatics, bioprocess engineering, immunology, and environmental biotechnology. They are also introduced to emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) in biotechnology, genomics, proteomics, CRISPR gene editing, synthetic biology, nanobiotechnology, and precision medicine. Through practical laboratory sessions, industrial visits, and research-based learning, students develop analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills required for careers in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, agriculture, food technology, and research organizations.

Eligibility Criteria

Must have passed 10+2 with (PCM/PCB/PCMB) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board.
A minimum aggregate of 45%–60% marks in the qualifying examination is generally required, depending on the institution.
Admission may be based on JEE Main, state-level engineering entrance examinations, university entrance tests, or merit-based selection.
