About B.Sc. Emergency & Trauma Care Technology

B.Sc. Emergency & Trauma Care Technology is a 4-year undergraduate allied healthcare programme that prepares students to provide immediate medical care to critically ill and injured patients during emergencies. The course generally consists of 3 years of academic study followed by a 1-year compulsory clinical internship. It focuses on emergency medicine, trauma management, critical care, disaster response, life support, and pre-hospital patient care. The curriculum combines medical sciences with practical training in emergency departments, intensive care units (ICUs), ambulances, trauma centres, operation theatres, and disaster management units. Students learn advanced life support techniques, emergency patient assessment, airway management, cardiac life support, trauma resuscitation, emergency pharmacology, and disaster preparedness. With the increasing number of road accidents, medical emergencies, natural disasters, and critical care cases, skilled emergency & trauma care technologists are in high demand across hospitals, emergency medical services (EMS), trauma centres, air ambulance services, and disaster response organisations.
