About B.Sc. Cardiac Technology
B.Sc. Cardiac Technology is a 4-year undergraduate allied healthcare programme that focuses on the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The course generally includes 3 years of academic study followed by a 1-year compulsory clinical internship. It prepares students to assist cardiologists and cardiac surgeons in performing diagnostic tests, interventional procedures, and critical cardiac care. The curriculum covers cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, ECG, echocardiography, cardiac catheterisation, electrophysiology, intensive cardiac care, medical imaging, and cardiac equipment management. Students receive practical training in catheterisation laboratories (Cath Labs), cardiac ICUs, operation theatres, and multispecialty hospitals. With the increasing prevalence of heart disease and the rapid expansion of cardiac care facilities, cardiac technology has become one of the most sought-after allied health professions. Graduates are employed in hospitals, cardiac centres, research organisations, medical device companies, and healthcare institutions in India and abroad.
